It's come to our attention that our rule on plagiarism was a little murky concerning someone else finishing an author's unfinished work.

So please familiarize yourself with the following amendment to the Submission Rules. 

NF.com also includes taking someone's unfinished story and finishing it without the original authors permission in our definition of plagiarism. If this occurs, violators will have three days to remove the story of their account will be deleted.

It's that time again! We are in need of some new featured stories!

For the next week we'll be accepting submissions via email (archive@nsync-fiction.com) and twitter (@nsyncfiction) for the story that's flying under the radar and you think everyone should be reading.

Each person can suggest up to three stories. Submissions will be accepted until 8:30 am EST on January 10th. The top three suggested stories will be Featured for Winter, the fourth being mods' choice.

Secret Santa 2011 is coming to a close! We had a banner year and a massive turnout--give yourselves a round of applause and a pat on the back!

Please be sure to read the stories that interest you and leave a review-- authors work very hard on these stories.

If you've NOT yet posted your story, they are officially LATE! If you haven't been in touch with me about when you'll be posting your story, you have until tomorrow to do so. On 1/2/2012, stories will be reassigned so that no writer goes without a gift. If your story is reassigned, you will not be permitted to participate in the next Secret Santa Exchange. 

Sorry kids, them's the breaks. It's simply not fair for someone to get a story who hasn't submitted one.

Remember that stories must be complete and posted by midnight on 12/31/2011. Stories are considered late after 1/1/2012 and at that time we will determine if stories need to be reassigned to a fill-in author. 

Enjoy your gift as well as everyone else's-- and please don't forget to leave a comment! Authors have worked very hard on these stories!  

The archive has seen a little upsurge in users lately, probably due to the Awesome August challenge and we here at NF just wanted to take the time to welcome you to the family!

I've also been getting some general questions about how to use the site (posting a story, submitting to a challenge, etc). All of this information can be found in the Help/FAQ section.

Also if you are new PLEASE familiarize yourself with the Submission Rules. We are a pretty laid back community and, compared to a lot of others, have  pretty lenient submission requirements but we must insist that you adhere to them.

And finally, take pride in your work! Check spelling and grammar! Paragraph formatting and punctuation are your FRIENDS. Get a beta and make your story the best it can possibly be.

First of all, we are just days away from the start of an Awesome month here at NSYNC Fiction. Awesome August is our summer writing challenge-- a month of new stories to read! If you haven't written in awhile, or just haven't written anything NEW in awhile, consider this an invitation to grab one of the few remaining dates and hop in. Secondly, in order to spread the word a bit more about updates to stories here, SomethingBlue and I have set up a Facebook Page for the archive: http://on.fb.me/qIJ7Fz .  Please be sure to "like" the page so you can stay up to date on your favorite stories and find new writers to read. There's also a discussion module, in case you care to chat about stories with other readers & writers. 

We have ~16 slots left for some Awesome writers to join our summer challenge. Check out the Awesome August 2011 post in "Challenges" for details. FormSpring is an awesome way to ask your favorite authors about their characters, writing habits or anything else you're curious about. Also good for asking how that next update is coming along ;)
